1. Items Collected

The items of personal information collected by the Company are as shown in the table below.

Required:

The items of personal information collected as **required** are the minimum necessary to provide CU Global Shop services, and do **not** include sensitive personal information that may infringe upon customers’ fundamental rights (such as race and ethnicity, ideology and creed, political orientation, criminal record, health status, or sexual life).


Optional:

Even if you refuse to consent to the collection of **optional** items of personal information, you may still use CU Global Shop services; however, you will not be able to receive services related to the items for which you did not consent.


2. Methods of Collection

① The Company collects personal information through lawful consent procedures as follows:  

1. Collection of information on the web, such as through the Company’s website and membership registration  

2. Collection through customer complaint centers via the minimum necessary channels such as telephone and web, for the purpose of handling customer complaints


3. Purpose of Collection

The Company collects and uses personal information within the minimum necessary scope for the following purposes:  

① Membership services  

- Collected and used to provide CU Global Shop services, and analyze customer information through identity verification procedures required for the use of membership services.  

② Customer management  

- Used for identity verification, and handling customer complaints.


4. Retention and Use Period

The Company will promptly destroy customers’ personal information once the purpose of its collection or the purpose for which it was provided has been achieved.  

However, if it is necessary to retain such information for a certain period of time for reasons such as verifying transaction-related rights and obligations, in accordance with provisions of the Commercial Act and other relevant laws and regulations, as well as the Company’s internal policies, it will be retained for the period specified in the following table.  


※ Relevant laws and regulations: the Commercial Act, the Fair Transactions in Franchise Business Act, the Framework Act on National Taxes, the Corporate Tax Act, the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc., the Protection of Communications Secrets Act, and others.

① Destruction Procedure: After the purpose of processing customers’ personal information has been achieved, the information is transferred to a separate database (DB) and retained for a certain period in accordance with the Company’s internal policies and other relevant laws and regulations for reasons of information protection (see Retention and Use Period), after which it is destroyed. Such personal information will not be used for any purpose other than retention, unless required by law.


② Destruction Method: Personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration. Personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that render the records irrecoverable.


5. Right to Refuse Consent to the Collection and Use of Personal Information

Members have the right to refuse consent; however, if you refuse, you will not be able to sign up for membership or use CU Global Shop services.
